What the Cards Mean: The Wheel of Fortune

The Wheel of Fortune: After meeting his inner Hermit, the Fool retreats from the outside world in order to explore his own sense of self. However, he cannot stay reclusive forever, as the world demands his presence and participation. Change is inevitable. The Fool learns this after he encounters the next stage of the major arcana in the Wheel of Fortune card. This card indicates that one’s fate is changing. It can be improving or disintegrating depending on the attitude of the querent; it’s how one rides out the change that makes the difference. Will you grip onto the wheel in fear and anxiety, or will you sit calmly at its center and allow the changes to come with ease? The more you exert consciousness over who you are and the kind of experiences you attract, the more control you will have over the Wheel of Fortune. What do you want to manifest? Who do you want to be? Focus on that and keep moving towards your goals. Spend time in meditation and visualize what you want. This can help shift the momentum of the Wheel in your favor. It could indicate new and wonderful opportunities are on the horizon, or sudden unexpected changes are at your feet. The Wheel also reminds us of the cosmic law of Karma. What you put out into the world will come back to you, so make sure you treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.

If The Wheel of Fortune is reversed or compromised, be careful not to project negative blaming onto others, as the source of your fate is completely yours and does not involve external factors. If your fate has changed in a negative way, you must focus on what you can do to turn your fate around and move the Wheel in the right direction again. The Wheel also reminds us that we don’t always have full control over a situation, and that things outside of our control can be ruling the direction of our fate. You may need to just relinquish control for a while and let fate take its course, until you can find a way to turn it around again. The compromised Wheel can suggest delays, stop-start maneuvers, or your timing is off. You could have missed out on an opportunity or you are being blocked from change or are simply not ready for change. It can also indicate an intense amount of change is on its way. If that’s the case it may be too much too fast, and it will be very difficult to keep up with. Be sure to keep a good attitude and not become overly conservative or inflexible to try to control it. Just go with the flow and ride it out. The reversed Wheel can also indicate you are breaking a negative habit or pattern.

Keywords: Unexpected opportunities, change, movement, fate. What do you want to attract? Karma is in play. Reversed: Your fate is your responsibility, lacking control, delays, stop/starts, bad timing, resisting change, too much too fast, go with the flow, breaking a negative pattern.
