What the Cards mean: The Magician

THE MAGICIAN: The first person the Fool encounters on his journey is the Magician. Planting the seeds of the Fool’s journey, The Magician is hidden deep within the subconscious of the Fool, orchestrating subtle hints and ques of what could possibly lie ahead. He is a spirit guide, leading and protecting the Fool, but also a bit of a trickster, speaking in riddles and sometimes downright lies. He likes to speak to you in dreams and in nightmares. Because the Magician has all four elements at his power he represents full-blown potential of what the Fool can do. He just needs to choose his path. The Magician does his best work through the Fool, manipulating the situation to his advantage, charming the innkeeper to let him stay the night, fast-talking himself into getting a ride from a stranger. He takes action. He creates new ideas and persuades, persuades, persuades. He knows how to write, speak and communicate swiftly. He can make it happen. A natural salesman with a quick-wit and a wicked smile, The Magician is the survival wit of the Fool. He knows how to “sing for his supper.” If he is hindered in any way, he may lack confidence, or not have the requisite skills to survive in this way. Or it could just mean he is a con artist and knows how to lie his socks off.

Keywords: Undiscovered or undeveloped skills, new opportunities, untapped potential. Manifestation. Do what you have to do to survive. Be careful who you trust.
